I bought this fan as a retrofit for a bathroom fan that died.The installation experience was painful at best.I'm not a professional electrician, but I have plenty of experience with this kind of project. Home Depot fans are significantly easier to install.I've installed the Panasonic and a few Nutones and I can say that I'll probably just buy a Nutone for the next time I need to do this job.

Pros:
*Moves A LOT of air!
*Uses fluorescent lights.
*Quieter than the builders special that I replaced.
*Great price compared to retail.
* Arrived very quickly. I'd buy from this Amazon retailer again.

Cons:
*The supplied mounting rails are flimsy.I had to build up a wooden frame to hold the fan body.
*Instruction set is poorly written.You will pretty much have to guess.
*Unnecessarily complex installation. It took me more hours than I care to admit to install this thing.
*The electrical junction box is not big enough to contain all the wires after it gets wired up.If you plan to install this in your attic you will find it very awkward to wire this thing up because the angle at which you will have to work while balancing yourself on joists will kill your back and neck.Also, half the body of the junction box will be obscured from your vision.
*Even though I created a very secure base to connect the fan body to, I will still need to attach some kind of sound dampening to kill some minor resonation of the body.

Easy to install, remote works well and has a decent dimmer function (that could be improved to be fantastic).Fan is small at 52", but at high speed, it generates enough air to make a warm room comfortable.

I gave it four stars due to a few changes that could be made on the dimmer (through remote control), and since I've only had for it for a few days, I can't speak to its long term dependability.The light on this is halogen, which is not a great feature to me, so I'm limited to one halogen light, instead of multiple bulbs.The halogen is bright enough to light a room, but don't expect the same results provided by two 100w incandescent bulbs.

8 month later:
Review still stands, no quality issues whatsoever.

I bought cheaper fans before and decided recently to buy this expensive one, but quiet and lots of CFM fan. The installation went very well, it wakes up automatically, which will be very useful in the kid's bathroom. And I have to say it is very quiet. I am really impressed. Quality seemed also much better. Even after long and hot shower not even single drp of water or fog on mirror. I would love to replace other fans now. I am glad I bought it. Money well spent. And the externel vendor selling it on Amazon (Northside Service Company) was great. There was one piece broken a little. They shipped replacement part quickly and no questions asked. Highly recommended.

I spent a number of hours researching energy star fans.After careful analysis I found that this fan with its internal A/C to DC voltage conversion would provide the best cost savings.I had some hesitation about buying a Monte Carlo fan because relative to other fan companies (Hunter, etc.) they were a rather new company.I spoke with a customer service rep at Monte Carlo who quickly answered my questions and after considering their warranties decided to give it a shot.As always the purchase from Amazon was easy and the fan arrived quickly. The installation was similar to other fans that I have installed which has its challanges(mechanical hanging it from the ceiling, electrical connection, etc.)There was no pre-kitting to speed up the install.However, I was impressed that Monte Carlo gives you plenty of spare parts (rubber insulators for the blades - 1 extra, screws - at least 2 extra) just in case you loose a few during the task.Once the fan was installed and turned on I could tell that I made a good purchase in terms of performance.The unit is silent and definitely moves some air.Overall I am quite please with this unit and since I have three other fans to purchase and install I will be looking to Monte Carlo again for my needs.

This 4 light ceiling fan adapter is a great alternative for the commonly supplied 3 light adapter usually provided in ceiling fan kits. As opposed to 180 watts of illumination, which may be inadequate for the area involved, you now get 240 watts of lighting. This is an excellent product, it appears to be of very high quality, its motor runs smoothly and looks great in my hobby room. It is three speed and reversible using the supplied remote control - there is no pull chain despite what the description on the product page says - that would detract from its appearance. The remote control does not appear to be of the same high quality standard but is effective. Perhaps a little too powerful, as another fan in the house, made by a different manufacturer, also (sometimes) responds to its commands! A nice touch is the inclusion of a wall mounting kit for the remote control, so theoretically it should never be misplaced. The light is sufficient to provide background lighting but don't expect to be able to comfortably read by it, the halogen bulb is of the same intensity as an incandescent bulb with a 50 W rating. I would never have thought that a ceiling fan would be a conversation piece, but this one certainly is. Installation was a breeze, as is this fan!

recently remodeled my master bedroom, new furniture, new paint, new fixtures, etc.. had a real hard time finding a ceiling fan i thought would finish up the suite.when i found this one i thought it would work nicely so i ordered it.well the picture showed it @ 10" off of the ceiling, but when i received it i knew with a 3" downrod it was not to be.was able to correct it by going out and purchasing a 12" down rod.it worked out really well.the motor is very quiet and the blades push a good amount of air around. for the most part i am happy with the outcome, just be prepared to purchase a longer down rod if you want it to appear as it does in the pictures.

Panasonic FV-08VQL4 WhisperLite 80 CFM Ceiling Mounted Fan/Light Combination Review

I purchased this ventilation fan because it was rated very quiet and also because it boasts a damper that will keep cold air from coming in.

Claim #1 was true--fan is almost imperceptible when on.
Claim #2 not so much.The damper still allowed a great deal of cold air to billow in.

My main problem, however, with this is that Panasonic has a unique light bulb base which makes it impossible to replace their bulb with any other brand (the base has little notches that aren't in the center of the base, they're off center, not like any other 4-pin base, so nothing else fits).Not only that, but Panasonic only offers ONE type of bulb for this--an 18 W 3500K bulb--which is very bright and very blue/cool.So if you wanted softer, warmer light in your bathroom, you're basically screwed.And if you need to replace the bulb, yep, that's right--you've got to go to Panasonic.

It took me 6 phone calls, 4 disconnects, 3 stupid customer service people, and finally 1 phone call back from Panasonic to confirm that they indeed do not have any other bulbs but the 18W 3500K model.

If had known this, I certainly would have made a different choice and suffered through a little bit of a noisier fan.

I needed 2 bathroom exhaust fans for a mobile home.7" round duct that went straight up through the ceiling.Although there aren't much details listed for these, they came as pictured and described.They move enough air to hold a sheet of toilet paper to them.Install was pretty easy.Amazon was the cheapest place I found them, and I didn't find a ton of them out there either.

My wife purchased this fan for our bedroom.Installation was a little confusing, as I wanted to mount it very close to the ceiling and the directions don't really make it clear how to do that, but I figured it out.Once mounted it works fine.It's very quiet (we can only hear the wind noise of the blades) and it barely vibrates (just a tiny bit on high speed).There is a slight buzz, but it would probably only be noticeable in a house that is absolutely silent.We don't have a house like that ... :)

I am planning on buying a few more to match for other rooms in my house.

Make sure your fan can take the load.They advertize these blades as being light in weight and they are.But, my fan could not handle the power required to whirl them.For me it made my great ceiling fan a non blowing fan.I only purchased the blades for decorative purposes so...didn't work for me.

Deliver was great.No problem with quality.Fan blades now reside in the closet.

In case you need to prep your area ahead of time the daimeters of the holes are 4" and 6" and the full diameter is actually 15.5". I wanted to put it under a light fixture but the internal diameter was a bit too small so you should should make sure where your light touches the ceiling is a little less than 6". It is made of hard plastic so I wonder how well paint will stick to it, but thats a concern for the future since my ceiling is white. I find it a nice frugal add on if it goes with your room.

Hunter Fan 28481 56-Inch Cambridge Ceiling Fan, Roman Bronze Review

This is a truly classy fan.It replaced our previous 20 year old Hunter fan that got water in the motor after Hurricane Ike damaged our roof.We got the one that came with the light kit and it is very stunning.No 1980's shiny brass on it!I love the antique bronze finish.The disappointment is even though it is beautiful, the glass dome is inverted and not clear but rather resembles the look of marble (spicy mustard yellow with darker "veins" running through it), and the bulbs are small, so it does not give off very much light like the old Hunter did. But overall, it is a lovely fan and blows hard, just not enough light.

Hunter 21538 The Vista 52-Inch Five-Cherry/Dark Walnut-Blades-Ceiling Fan, Iron Review

This fan was a little tricky for my brother in law (who has installed numerous fans in his mothers and his own home) to install.It only took he and my husband 30 minutes to install but he mentioned to me that it was a pain compared to the others he had experience with.I myself am not wowed by its appearance.I am going to search for a different light cover as this one is hidieous!!!!I was surprised to see that the metal was a pewter color.The picture made me think it would be more blackened.It functions well and gives off lots of light so as far as that is concerned I am pleased.But I am suffering some buyers remorse because it's appearance is not quite all I hoped it would be.

I am extremely happy with my Delano II Flush Mount.Recently when my existing ceiling fan stopped working I started searching around for a better looking and better built unit.Our house is a 1926 Craftsman and so I chose the Delano II in Antique Bronze.The overall quality of the fan and packaging were first rate.The fan arrived undamaged without any missing parts.The build quality is quite high with substantial heft to the metal casings, deep rich colors and very nice simulated wood fan blades.The assembly instruction were easy to follow and fan went together without a hitch.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy the unit was to wire.We had an existing un-switched circuit running the previous fan.This un-switched circuit was not optimal in that it forced us to control the fan by pulling the two strings to turn the light on or operated the fan.And as you would expect, these switches failed after a few years.What I really wanted was a wall switch controller!

To wire the Delano II is really quite easy.Simply run a single 14/2 line to a wall box.This may mean that you have to snake a line but in this case it is only a single line that will end up controlling the fan speed, fan direction and dim the light.The wiring instructions were also very easy to follow and wiring the wall control unit entails hooking up a ground wire and 2 two simple twist connections.The wall controller then wirelessly controls the fan speed and light dimmer.

Time to install including snaking the wire was 4 hours.

This is an excellent ceiling fan.It runs very quietly, and is easily controlled by the included remote control. I was particularly impressed by the installation. I was mounting this on a sloped ceiling, and fan comes with everything needed to do that, although I did order an extension rod (it comes with a 6-inch extension) to lower it somewhat.You do have to be sure that you have a solid mounting for this heavy fan.Fortunately, the electrical box that I was mounting to was already configured for a ceiling fan.At the ceiling, the mounting cover is in two pieces split about 3/4.You attach the larger piece, then when you're ready for the electrical connections, you lift the fan in place (have some help available - it's heavy!) and place the ball end of the extension rod into the mount.It holds it securely, and allows you to move the fan around as necessary.When you're done, you simply screw the last piece of the mount cover in place.

The actual assembly of the fan and blases was very smooth also.

Fanimation OF6320OB Fitzgerald Table top/Wall Mounted Fan, Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish, 3 Blades Review

I mounted it on the wall in my tiny bedroom. I have it plugged in to a remote at the wall outlet so I can turn it on and off without having to get up. It's very cute. It ocillates but also has a pull up switch to keep it from oscillating. The only drawback I can think of is it's not all that quiet.

Hunter Fans 90161 17" Bamboo Garden Traditional Outdoor Cocoa Floor Fan Review

This fan was a complete disaster to install! There is a safety mechanism in place where the interlock bracket has to be inserted just right in order for the fan to work. After spending nearly 2 hours with a lot of sweat and expletives, we gave up Day 1. We tried again Day 2 with our neighbor's help and they too could not figure it out. I mean we were all dumbfounded that we couldn't get this fan to start. We couldn't call Technical Support because they were closed on the weekend. Finally, we contacted Technical Support and were told to jiggle the bracket until it hits the switch exactly. Well we did that and it worked for a minute and then stopped. We jiggled some more and had to rig it to stay flush and it finally worked. I'm still baffled at how we thought we were purchasing a quality fan, but I'd just rather purchase an indoor fan for less of a headache! When purchasing directly from Hunter Fan site, it's listed as clearance. There is probably a good reason for it. Steer clear of this disaster

Pros: The fan is gorgeous, durable and made to remain outdoors.Delivery from CPO Fans was very quick and their customer service was stellar. I would purchase from them again.

Hunter 28098 4-Light Bullet Spotlight 160watt White Review

These lights are a lot bigger then the picture makes them to be. I purchased a hunter fan to go along with these bullet lights, because I liked how they looked and I wanted to have a lot of light when I needed it. Well these do the trick, the wiring was straight forward, and really easy. They are a nice set, just be aware of the size.
